THE JOURNEY OF MOHAMMED ASLAM

Mohammed Aslam was born in 1930, in Bangladesh, during the time of British Rule India. He lived through World War II as a teenager. As soon as he finished his education, he wasted no time. He became a successful businessman by his early twenties. 

He left Bangladesh in 1958 and travelled by ship. At the end of his two week journey he arrived in the UK. He knew no one in this new country, apart from a friend who lived in Cardiff. So he contacted him, and he invited him to come to Cardiff. He opened his first Indian Restaurant “The Light of Asia” in 1961. At the time it was the 5th restaurant in Wales.
